A DISABLED pensioner today relived the terrifying moment she woke to find burglars fleeing from her home with her most sentimental possessions.

They snatched Ethna Hogan’s entire jewellery collection including the priceless brooch her late husband Burt had bought her 50 years ago.
They also made off with her Volkswagen Polo which she relies on to stay mobile because of aneurisms and breathing problems.
The Skoda Favia which Ethna’s daughter, Melanie Hogan, had left outside her mum’s home while on a charity mission in Ethiopia was also stolen.
“It was very scary and I’m still scared now,” said Ethna, of Shard End.
“The shock of it has really knocked me about.
“Just the thought that they’ve been in my home makes me sick.
“They took 50 years worth of jewellery I had collected and other very sentimental things.
“The cross and chain around my neck is all I have left.
“They are the scum of the Earth. These people have no shame or conscience.”
