A LITTLE girl who was pralysed in a car accident has celebrated her first birthday at home with her family in six years.
Tiarney Calder was hit by a car on Mother’s Day 2005, when she was 18 months old.
She spent five-and-a-half years on ward 10 at Birmingham Children’s Hospital being treated for her life threatening injuries.
She finally came home in October after her family found a suitably adapted house for her to live in with her fulltime carers and medical equipment.
And last Friday, the brave youngster enjoyed her eighth birthday surrounded by her close family at their home.
Mum Vicky, aged 33, of Sunderton Road, Kings Heath, said: “It’s great having the time together without having to share her with the rest of the ward. It feels more special.”
Bubbly Tiarney woke her mum up at 6am, wanting to open her cards.
