They may have stunning views of the Clent Hills but the houses in one street in the West Midlands have the lowest property price tags in the region.

House prices have gone through the roof everywhere except for flats in St Cecilia Close, Hoobrook, just outside Kidderminster.

With mortgage lenders reluctant to pay out on the high rises, cash buyers and tenants are reaping the benefits of getting to live in homes valued at as little as £30,000.

A survey by property website Mouseprice.com revealed homes in the road cost on average £43,800.

Edward Bryan’s ninth floor, two-bedroom flat overlooks the lush Clent Hills and a pretty railway viaduct.

The 33-year-old, who lives on benefits, said: “There are beautiful views – it’s amazing, especially for the price.

“I’ve always been astounded how cheap the flats are.”

The road’s two high-rise and two maisonette blocks are surrounded by freshly-mown lawns and flowers beds.

Nearby are executive homes and Kidderminster Harriers’ stadium.
