RUSH-hour motorists got caught up in massive tailbacks on the M6 after a lorry ended up on its side.
The HGV collided with a lamppost on a southbound slip road at Junction 6, in Spaghetti Junction, last night.
The 24-year-old man driving the lorry suffered only a hand injury in the accident, which happened at about 6pm. No one else was hurt.
Paper from the lorry’s load fell into a canal.
Three lampposts were knocked down and part of some railings plus concrete also fell into the canal.
A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said it was liaising with British Waterways about clearing up the debris which had fallen into the canal.
