FRIENDS and relatives of a Birmingham schoolboy killed in a bus accident will gather to remember the “happy-go-lucky” teenager a year after his death.
A memorial service for Michael Doyle will be held on the first anniversary of the tragedy on May 8.
The 16-year-old was said to have slipped and fallen beneath a National Express West Midlands bus as he ran to catch it in Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield.
Michael’s mum Marianne said others who had suffered a bereavement would also be welcome at the event, to be held at Four Oaks Baptist Church in Sutton.
“Mick will always be remembered for his sense of humour, his happy-go-lucky outlook, his monster hugs and caring nature, but above all I think we all miss his silly infectious girlie laugh,” she said.
“The public are all too quick to pass judgement on the youth of today.
“Michael used to say: ‘Just because we wear tracksuits with hoodies, it doesn’t mean we are bad people.’
