THE children’s nursery rocked by a paedophile scandal is back open for business after a painstaking 12-week investigation.

A handful of toddlers are being cared for at the Little Stars Nursery, the Nechells centre which employed child rapist Paul Wilson.

But none of the children who were at the nursery when the 20-year-old worked there have come back.

Wilson, who worked at the nursery for 18 months, pleaded guilty to two counts of rape of a girl aged two or three.

The nursery worker, of Newbold Croft, Nechells, also sexually groomed 22 young girls online, persuading them to commit sexual acts.

He was arrested in January after a teenage victim reported he was blackmailing her.

Little Stars manager Stacey Spooner said the ordeal was very upsetting for staff.

She said: “It’s something you would never wish on your worst enemy.”

But Ms Spooner said management had decided against the use of CCTV cameras.
