A BLIND man is suing a Birmingham pub after he and his guide dog plunged 10ft into its cellar.
Christopher Elliott said he was led into the Village Inn in Hurst Street by his labradoodle Harry. But he said the cellar door had been left open – and both he and the dog ended up falling into the storage area as a result.
The 27-year-old said he launched legal action after the incident left him with pulled muscles in his back and thigh, as well as a bump on the back of his head.
Harry hurt his leg and was left so shaken he had to leave Christopher to undergo another two weeks of recuperation.
Musician Christopher, from Bordesley Green, said: “He has a habit of sniffing around and scavenging. I thought he was just playing about so I encouraged him to find a way.
“But he walked forward into the building and I fell down into the bar cellar.
