A CAMPAIGN to restore dart boards to Birmingham pubs has won the backing of a sports website and a city-based entrepreneur.
The Preserve our Dartboards Birmingham, or PODBRUM, initiative was launched on Facebook by Coun John Clancy after he complained about the diminishing number of watering holes where he could enjoy a game of arrows.
In Quinton, the ward he represents, Coun Clancy said he had been forced to move from pub to pub as they were refurbished, only to re-open minus a dart board, or turned into flats.
He could now only play at the Amber Tavern, he said.
Now the campaign has been backed by Birmingham entrepreneur Barry Steptoe and leading darts website, www.Dartsmad.com.
