Singer Eddie Masih is ready for the big time

A BIRMINGHAM singer who is hoping to break in to the big time is looking for a manager.

Eddie Masih, who opened for rock band The Wanted at a fund-raising concert earlier this summer and came third in a World Music Radio competition, is hoping professional support will help take his career to the next level.

Handsworth-born Eddie, who is to sing at the Oracle Cancer Trust fund-raising ball in London later this year, has an unusually high whistle register for a guy, and can sing higher than diva Mariah Carey. A successful career would be a dream come true for the 19-year-old as he nearly lost all power of song as a youngster when he fought off a tumour in his throat. Two operations to remove the tumour when he was just ten years old left one side of his head so badly paralysed he could hardly sing at all.

“At the moment I am in talks with a few record labels, so hopefully I will be signed real soon,” he said.
