THE brother of notorious ‘road rage’ killer Tracie Andrews has been convicted of possessing child pornography.
Lee Andrews appeared in court just days before his sister was finally released from jail on licence earlier this month after serving 14 years for the brutal murder of her fiance Lee Harvey.
He had admitted 11 counts of making indecent photographs and one of possessing indecent images.
Andrews was handed a 24-month supervision order at Worcester Crown Court.
He was banned from being in the company of a child under 16 without a parent or guardian.
Following his court appearance, Andrews, from Rednal, Birmingham, claimed: “It was a misunderstanding.” The 45-year-old added: “I pleaded guilty because it was easier for me to say, ‘Okay yes, let’s get this over with quickly’.”
Former barmaid Tracie stabbed Mr Harvey more than 30 times in the neck, face, head, chest, shoulder and back after the couple had rowed as they drove home along a country lane near Alvechurch, Worcs, in December 1996.
She then went on to concoct a story to detectives that 25-year-old Mr Harvey had been fatally knifed by a mystery driver in a road rage attack.
She famously mimicked the expression of the phony killer, a “fat man with bulging eyes” during a police press conference.
However, police found a bloody imprint inside a woman’s high-heeled ankle boot that matched the knife used to stab Mr Harvey.
She was found guilty of murder and jailed for life at Birmingham Crown Court in July 1997, later being ordered to serve a minimum 14 years behind bars before being eligible for parole.
Now known as Tia Carter, she was finally freed from Askham Grange Prison, near York earlier this month.
She is believed to be staying in a Home Counties parole hostel to help her become accustomed to life outside of jail.
Of his sister’s release, her brother added: “She deserves a second chance.”
