A MOTORCYCLIST killed in a late-night crash outside a Midland pub was a West Midlands Police officer returning home from duty.
Pc Ramin Tolouie was pronounced dead in Sutton’s Good Hope Hospital around an hour after a collision in Sutton Road on Sunday at 10.55pm.
The married father-of-one had been attended to at the roadside by police colleagues who he had been working with hours earlier. Paramedics also attended the incident.
Pc Tolouie was stationed at Erdington Police Station where he worked as a response officer for Birmingham North Local Policing Unit (LPU).
Floral tributes have been left at the scene of the tragedy, near the junction with Broadfields Road, paying tribute to the 40-year-old as a “true gentleman” and a “fine officer”.
However, his family, from Sutton Coldfield, were said to be too distraught to comment.
His daughter is 16 years old.
Pc Tolouie’s commander, Chief Superintendent James Andronov, said: “Ram was a big character, his team and all who knew him on Birmingham North LPU are devastated at his loss.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to Ram’s family and we will be doing everything that we can to support them at this very sad time.
