SINGERS are being offered the chance to perform with Culture Club frontman Boy George in a fund raising recording.
George, who used to live in Walsall and worked at Birmingham’s Rag Market, will headline a new EP in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. Musician Matthew Jones, who is behind the initiative, is now forming a choir to make the recording at Ingestre Hall in Staffordshire. The album will feature 1960s Italian ballads, many of which became English hits such as Shirley Bassey’s This is My Life and Dusty Springfield’s You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me.
Matthew, who believes that everyone can sing, is offering training to the future choristers who will begin rehearsals in Erdington next month. He is looking for people of all abilities. Singers need to be at least 16 by January 25.
