BIRMINGHAM will be flying high when the Olympics kick off in a little under 200 days’ time.

Passengers and athletes flying into Birmingham Airport will be greeted by the sight of the Olympic five-ring symbol on the central control tower. An artist impression showing how the tower will look during the Games has been released to celebrate the 200-day milestone.

Both the US and Jamaica track and field teams will be using training camps in the city in the lead-up to the Games.
