THE distraught son of Avtar and Carole Kolar has described the pain of their deaths as “unbearable.”

Grieving son Avtar – known as Taz – described his dad as his “best friend” in heartfelt tributes left outside Victoria’s hair salon, which the tragic couple had owned in Kingstanding.

The messages were signed by Taz and his wife Vicky who have a newborn son, just a week old.

It said: “Why dad? Life is incomplete without you.

“You’re my best friend and I miss you both. The pain is unbearable.”

The note went on: “Mum, the pain in our hearts will never pass.

“The love will continue to grow but life will never be the same.”

A post mortem for tragic grandparents Avtar, 62, and Carole, 58, took place on Friday. Police will reveal the cause of death on Saturday after a planned release was postponed because officers had not spoken to all relatives.

The couple were found dead at their home in Friary Road, Handsworth Wood, at around 8am on Wednesday by their police officer son, Jason.

Detectives say they are continuing to follow numerous lines of enquiry into the murders of the parents of four and grandparents of eight.

The Victoria salon remained closed yesterday but a sea of floral tributes had mounted up outside the shutters.

A passerby in Kingstanding, who described Carole as “one of the nicest people I’ve ever met”, said the couple bought the unit as a clothes shop before reopening it as a hairdressers many years ago.

She said: “Carole used to do my mum’s hair. She was just the nicest person.

“The community is just devastated to lose someone like Carole.

“She was always smiling and would always help other people.”

A book of condolence has been opened at a nearby florist after a customer suggested the idea. Staff said they had been inundated with customers adding to the shrine.
