ROBBIE Savage was the man Villa fans loved to hate when he ruled the roost at St Andrew’s.
But now the fiery former Blues midfielder is heading back to Brum – and may need their support.
For this time he’ll be clad in sequins rather than royal blue as part of the latest Strictly Come Dancing live tour.
And, with an audience vote deciding the winner of each show, Savage – who starred in the last series of Strictly’s TV run – will need to be at his toe-twinkling best to impress the crowds.
Speaking at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena, where the tour begins tonight, the Welshman said: “It’s great being back in Birmingham because I’ve so many happy memories of my time here.
“I’ve always said I played my best football in Birmingham and it was the pinnacle of my career. I made some enemies in football but I hope the show changed people’s perceptions of me.”
