Black Country comic Ayli dies aged 55

COMEDIAN John Plant - one half of legendary Black Country comedy duo Aynuk and Ayli - died today in hospital.
John, aged 55, who played Ayli, had been ill for about three weeks and died early this morning in Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley.
John, from Netherton, performed with partner Alan Smith, alias Aynuk, for more than 20 years.
They formed a key part of the hugely popular Black Country Night Out show, which toured extensively throughout the West Midlands.
