Five bailed over mother's hit and run death

FIVE people arrested in connection with the death of Leanne Moore hit by a car which then drove off have been released on police bail.

Leanne Moore, aged 25, was killed while walking home from the pub in Cradley shortly after midnight on Saturday.

West Midlands Police said the Rover had earlier been followed by a marked police car after it was seen acting suspiciously.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating the police force's involvement.

Three men aged 26, 21 and 20 and two women aged 18 and 17 arrested in connection with the death were released on bail pending further inquiries.

Leanne, from Halesowen, had a nine-month-old baby called Sophie with boyfriend Lee Willoughby, 25.

The couple were walking home after drinking together in The Widders pub in Barrack Lane when Ms Moore was hit.
