Taxi driver's wife tried to save him

THIS is the father-of-four gunned down outside his home in the Midlands.

Police issued the image of 39-year-old taxi driver Harun Khan, who died after being shot in Tudor Street, Dudley Port, Tipton, at 9.30pm last Monday.

The victim, known locally as Tala, was in a critical condition when emergency services arrived at the scene. He died later in Russells Hall Hospital, in Dudley.

Mr Khan's wife was seen desperately trying to revive her husband after the shooting left him in a pool of blood. The neighbourhood was said to have been left in a state of shock by the incident.

One Tudor Street resident said a crowd gathered around Mr Khan's home after news of the shooting.

"We were in a social club nearby when we heard a man had been shot in the street," the resident said.

"We saw him lying on the ground and it was a real shock. My daughter used to go round to his home and his wife would make a curry for everyone. What has happened is terrible." n West Midlands Police said a 36-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder had been bailed pending further inquiries.
