Child snatch alert

A WARNING has gone out to schools in the Black Country after the attempted abduction of a child.

It follows an incident in which a girl of secondary school age, who has not been identified, was approached by two men in the Parkfield area of Wolverhampton.

The men, believed to have been black or Asian, went up to the girl apparently asking her for directions.

The men, one of whom had a goatee beard, are thought to have then asked the girl to go with them to show the way.

She was saved from the potentially dangerous situation by a shopkeeper who came to her aid.

The incident happened on March 4 but details have only just come to light.

Now a warning has been sounded to schools across the Wolverhampton area as part of the School Safe network.
