A COUPLE have been charged with killing a dog by throwing it 60 feet to its death.

Alexander Spence, 60, and his wife Sheena, 61, of Wyndmill Crescent, Charlemont Farm, West Bromwich, are facing a charge of causing unnecessary suffering to the dog.

The first hearing was at West Bromwich magistrates court yesterday afternoon, when the case was adjourned until April 28. The couple did not appear in court.

The couple are alleged to have thrown the dog, a Scottish terrier called Laddie, from the balcony of their fifth-floor flat.
