Oil leakage after blaze

A FIRE caused a huge oil spill which resulted in chaos on a busy Midland road.

Traffic tailed back along Dudley Port, Tipton, after a blaze broke out in a workshop at the German Car Service Centre at about 7am yesterday.

The fire caused drums of oil to rupture with around 150 litres spilling into the road.

Firefighters worked with water officials to try and prevent the oil going down into drains.

The blaze gutted a workshop and destroyed a car. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
