FORMER world heavyweight champion Frank Bruno proved a knockout success as he met patients at Dudley’s Russells Hall Hospital.
The 48-year-old ex-boxer visited the hospital’s therapy department, where he saw the gym and hydro pool, and the trauma unit.
He also met patients and staff, some of whom received free signed copies of his autobiography.
The hour-long visit was hastily arranged thanks to 33-year-old Halesowen boxing promotions manager Pete Jackson, who works as a security officer at the hospital.
A hospital spokesman said: “He was in the area so he agreed to come in. It really was a last-minute thing but it was lovely.”
