Caught on Camera: Thugs robbed woman, 85
POLICE are hunting two cowardly thugs who attacked an 85-year-old woman for her handbag.
The pair, both thought to be in their late 20s, pounced on the woman as she walked along a road in Erdington.
Amazingly, she fought back and desperately clung onto the back until it was wrenched from her grasp.
Police in north Birmingham have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident which happened at about 4pm on Thursday, April 29, in Wheelwright Road.
Police said the 85-year-old woman was approached by two men. One of the men grabbed her handbag containing a large quantity of cash, before both offenders made off.
The victim received some bruising to her hand while she attempted to hold onto her bag.
Bother offenders were black, about 5ft 8ins tall and in their late 20s.
One was wearing a waist-length leather jacket, the other was wearing dark clothing.
