Armed police surround house
Police have surrounded a house where a man is thought to be armed.
Trained negotiators were talking to the man at the address in Wigan, Greater Manchester, throughout the day.
Police received reports that a man was refusing to leave the property in Hereford Road, Hindley, at 12.40pm on Friday.
The area was sealed off while the operation, involving armed officers, continued.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said there were unconfirmed reports that the man was armed and that a second person was in the house.
He said: "These are the suggestions that we have had but we are unable to confirm yet whether that is correct."
