Four soldiers killed in Afghanistan
Four British soldiers were killed in southern Afghanistan in a single day, the Ministry of Defence said.
The troops died in three separate incidents in Helmand province on Thursday, taking the number of UK service personnel killed in the country since 2001 to 157.
It was the bloodiest day for British forces in Afghanistan since June 17 2008, when four soldiers including Corporal Sarah Bryant, 26, were killed.
The soldiers' families have been informed.
