Calendar Girls are baring all again
The widow of the man who inspired The Calendar Girls struggled to contain her emotion as she launched a new nude charity calendar to mark the 10th anniversary.
Angela Baker broke down in tears as she spoke about her husband, John, whose death from lymphoma sparked the decision of 11 Rylstone Women's Institute members to strip off for a calendar to raise money for leukaemia research in 2000.
Six of the original women have launched their first full colour calendar at Harvey Nichols in Leeds, 10 years after their original set of saucy images went on sale.
Speaking at the launch, Mrs Baker said: "Thank you for coming. We were a little worried whether anyone would turn up 10 years on but it has been brilliant to see you are."
She continued: "Thank you to all the girls for supporting everything over the last 10 years and for all the money we have made for leukaemia research.
"I'm sure John Baker will be smiling, the sun is shining and he'll be so pleased with what we've achieved."
