Woman charged with hit-run killing

A 27-year-old woman has been charged with the alleged hit-and-run killing of a young boy, Avon and Somerset Police have said.

Sam Riddall, 11, died after a car mounted the pavement and ran into him as he walked home from a church youth service in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, on May 1.

Police said Hannah Saaf, from Bristol, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and will appear before Bristol Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.

Saaf was also charged with failing to stop and/or report an accident, driving otherwise than in accordance with her licence and driving without insurance.
