Jobless total to be revealed early
Publication of new unemployment figures has been brought forward by a day following the accidental early release of some data.
The figures were due to be published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Wednesday, and were set to show another huge jump in the number of people out of work.
But in a surprising move, the ONS said it will now publish the information early.
"The National Statistician has initiated an inquiry into how this happened, and will report to the UK Statistics Authority very shortly.
"ONS apologises for the inconvenience caused," the ONS said in a statement.
