Teenager charged with park murder

A teenager has been charged with the murder of a 37-year-old man who was attacked in a park.

Christopher Folkes, from Shadsworth, Blackburn, was found unconscious with head injuries near the lake in the town's Queen's Park and died later in hospital.

A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said: "A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Blackburn Magistrates' Court on Thursday."

He added: "Two men aged 20 and 22, who were arrested on Sunday, have both been released without charge.

"Detectives are still looking to speak to people that were in the park around the time of the incident and would ask them to come forward if they have not done so already."
