Princess Royal in Afghan visit
The Princess Royal has made a surprise visit to British troops in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence said.
Anne, who holds a range of honorary ranks with various regiments, spent time in the forces' main base Camp Bastion.
During the visit the royal met soldiers from a number of units including a group of military dogs and their handlers.
Her last visit to the nation was in October 2006.
