Australian actresses who’ve found fame overseas include Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts, Rose Byrne and Anna Torv while actors include Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Heath Ledger, Guy Pearce, Julian McMahon, Eric Bana, Sam Worthington, Chris Hemsworth and brother Liam Hemsworth.
Musically, the Australians have given us such acts as Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, INXS, AC/DC and Olivia Newton-John. Rolf Harris is known for his art as much as his music.
Other Aussies who have found wider success in the entertainment industry include Clive James and Dame Edna Everage alter-ego Barry Humphries, as well as Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood. Feminist writer and academic Germaine Greer also hails from Australia.
