Woman, 31, is charged with murder

A WOMAN has been charged with murder following a brutal stabbing in a leafy Midland street.

A passer-by in Berkeley Road, Shirley, spotted the tragic victim Emma Bradshaw lying in a pool of blood at around 8.15am on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old had suffered multiple stab wounds to her chest and was taken to Heartlands Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

West Midlands Police said a 31-year-old was due to appear before magistrates in Solihull today accused of murder.

Residents yesterday told how they heard a woman screaming shortly before 8am Police sealed off the area at the junction with Delrene Road as forensic experts and specialist search teams moved in to scour the scene for clues.

Police said they had found what is believed to be the murder weapon at the scene and it has now been sent off for forensic analysis.
