Teen held over death of woman

DETECTIVES were this afternoon questioning a man over the death of a woman who is believed to have been stabbed.

The woman, in her 40s, died in hospital today after being found at a house in Castle Bromwich.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of her murder.

Police said they were called to an address in Lanchester Way shortly after 3am.

They refused to confirm the woman’s injuries but she is believed to have suffered stab wounds.

The woman, who has not yet been named, was taken to a local hospital where she was found to be dead on arrival.

Police immediately sealed off part of Lanchester Way.

Detectives were at the scene this afternoon.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death and is helping police with inquiries.”
