The league tables also revealed how 87 per cent of students achieved a level four or above in English, and 84 per cent in maths.

At Marston Green Junior School, 98 per cent of pupils achieved level Four or above in both English and maths.

Meanwhile, 97 per cent of pupils at the Oak Cottage Primary School in Olton gained level Four or above in the same key subjects.

Lynn Clark, head teacher at Marston Green, said she was “delighted” with the figures.

She said: “We feel that it is the result of a lot of hard work by children, parents and staff. But it also reflects a very positive five years.”

Mrs Clark added that the school had achieved good pupil progress results and had cultivated a favourable reputation in the community.

“We are going from strength to strength each year,” she said. “The emphasis is the partnership with the parents, and a huge commitment from staff.”

Karen O’Keefe, head teacher of Oak Cottage Primary School, was also “delighted” with the school’s results. She said: “They reflect the hard work that the students, staff and parents have put in over the last year.”

Mrs O’Keefe said that parents at the school were very committed to their children’s education. However, she added that exam success was not the primary focus of the school. “Staff encourage [the pupils] not only in academic achievement but in a whole range of activities,” she said. “What matters to us is that the children leave here as happy, well rounded individuals.”

Pupils at St Anne’s Catholic Primary School in Chelmsley Wood also achieved an excellent pass rate of 98 per cent in level Four or above in English and Maths. Hockley Heath Primary School also scored well, with 96 per cent of pupils gaining level Four or above in English and maths.
