Gallery wins top accolade

BOSSES at a Staffordshire attraction are celebrating after scooping a top national award for their standards of service.

The Shire Hall Gallery at Stafford has been granted Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service accreditation by Visit Britain, the national tourism body for England.

The benchmark was launched in 2001 and rates everything from telephone enquiries to toilets. Staffordshire County Council's cultural services boss, Coun Maureen Compton, said: "This is excellent news for the Shire Hall Gallery.

"It is recognition for all the hard work and commitment shown by its staff to provide such a high quality service."
