New year eastern promise

CHILDREN at a primary school in Sutton Coldfield have been enjoying their second New Year celebrations in just over a month.

Reception pupils at Little Sutton Primary in Worcester Lane, Four Oaks, have been taking part in a fun Chinese New Year Day. They were involved in carrying out a range of activities to help them learn and understand through first-hand experience all about Chinese New Year, its traditions and how it is celebrated.

During the fun event, the pupils were given the opportunity to make Chinese New Year masks based around the Year of the Rat. They were also involved in making a Happy Chinese New Year card as well as red lucky packets to put coins in - a tradition associated with Chinese New Year.
