Yob culture is the topic of Burntwood meeting

A PUBLIC meeting is to be held next month to discuss the best ways of tackling drunken yobs making residents' lives a misery.

People in Burntwood are urged to attend the meeting and discuss how to address problems of anti-social behaviour.

The meeting, organised by Lichfield District Council, will take place at Burntwood Institute on March 13 at 7.30pm.

One of the main topics of discussion at the community pride meeting will be a proposal to gate off a park on Cannock Road and Elder Lane in Burntwood.

This action is being considered following complaints from residents who were concerned that the park is being used at night by people who go there to drink.

Residents have been disturbed by noise and have asked for the gate to the park to be closed after hours.

The meeting is to discuss the issue and to explain the full implications of closing the park at night.

For more information contact Bob Haynes, Community Safety Officer for Lichfield District Council, on 01543 308777.
