Check out Tamworth till girl Becky Jones's new CD

Becky Jones

A CHECK-OUT girl is hoping to hit the right notes for a charity with a CD she has recorded.

Talented Co-op employee Becky Jones, aged 20, from Tamworth, recorded a rendition of Bette Midler's Wind Beneath My Wings and now hopes to raise cash from it to help British Heart Foundation.

Becky, who works at Midlands Co-op's Superstore in Wilnecote, recorded the song in January and is now giving copies to her family and friends in return for a minimum of £2.

So far, she has raised £80 for the cause. Becky, who has worked at the Co-op for five years, said: "As the British Heart Foundation is Midlands Co-op's staff elected charity for 2008 and 2009, I thought it would be good to use my CD single to raise funds for them.

"I've always wanted to record a CD and I enjoyed every minute of it - raising money for the British Heart Foundation from it has been the icing on the cake."

Manager of Midlands Co-op's Tamworth Superstore, Jim Cunningham, said: "Becky is a real star - we are all really proud of her.

Using the CD to raise money for charity is a fantastic idea and has brought in much needed cash for the British Heart Foundation."

Limited copies of Becky's CD single are available from the store while stocks last.
