Lad hurt in collision with 4x4

A BOY of five was airlifted to a Birmingham hospital with a serious head injury after a collision with a car.

Emergency services were alerted at 6.15pm yesterday to an accident in Meadowbrook Road, Lichfield, involving a red Izuzu 4x4 driven by a woman. .

West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Crews found a young boy with a serious head injury, began treating him at the scene.

“The doctor who arrived by helicopter then gave the boy pain relief.”

The boy was placed on a spinal board, with a collar supporting his neck and airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where he was later in a stable condition.
