Airlift for car woman

A WOMAN was flown to hospital after the car she was travelling in ploughed into bushes.

The car, carrying two women and two children, veered off Rawnsley Road, Cannock, at around 1pm yesterday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “On arrival, crews found a woman was out of the car and on the ground.

“The 26-year-old, believed to be the front seat passenger, had suffered head, neck, back and arm injuries.

“Crews treated her at the scene and she was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before being flown to University Hospital North Staffordshire where medics were on standby awaiting her arrival.

“The driver of the car, a female, was treated for minor cuts, but the children were unhurt.”
