Two hurt as car overturns on motorway

TWO people were taken to hospital when the car they were travelling in overturned on a motorway.

A 27-year-old male driver and a 44-year-old female passenger were injured in the accident on the M42 motorway, shortly before 6.30pm yesterday.

The incident happened on the northbound carriageway between junctions nine and ten, near to Cliff, in Tamworth.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at the scene crews found a car on its roof with significant damage.

“The two occupants had been helped out of the overturned vehicle by a passing lorry driver.
