Body discovered in Fradley

A POLICE inquiry is today under way following the discovery of a man’s body in a pool of water.

Officers from Lichfield were called to reports of a crash in Wood End Lane, in Fradley, shortly after 2am on October 12.

But when they got there, they discovered a car which had been abandoned.

A search of the immediate area was carried out where officers found the body in the pool in a field.

Police and firefighters recovered the body from the water. A post mortem is due to be carried later this week.

Officers are carrying out an investigation to establish the man’s identity, the circumstances of his death and if he had any connection with the car.
