BUSINESSES are being warned to be on their guard after it emerged that conmen are trying to dupe them into handing over hundreds of pounds in cash for bogus advertising services.
Bogus callers have been claiming to sell advertising on behalf of Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service to businesses across the county.
Jude Russell, Staffordshire Fire & Rescue service’s marketing and events team manager, said: “We don’t sell advertising space and we don’t employ other agencies to do this.”
