Staffordshire paperboy left brain damaged by lorry crash set for compensation
A PAPERBOY who suffered brain damage when he was knocked down on a busy Midland road is in line for a compensation payout.
Joshua Smith began the paper round the day after his 13th birthday in 2005, but was run over by a lorry just days later.
The teenager, of Tean, Staffordshire, will be paid damages by lorry driver Mark Hammond, from Cheadle, who had made a counter claim for post traumatic stress caused by the accident.
Both sides will now attempt to reach a compromise on the amount of damages Joshua is entitled to.
