A WOMAN in her 30s was trapped for about 45 minutes after her car was in collision with another vehicle at a notorious accident black spot.

The woman was released by firefighters and taken to hospital with cuts and bruises following the accident in Bristol Road, Northfield, Birmingham, at Tessall Lane at 2pm yesterday.

Her Austin Metro was in collision with a Vauxhall Astra whose male driver was unhurt.

Northfield Fire Station Officer John Jordan said firefighters removed the roof of the Austin to free the woman, who has not yet been named.

"This was about the fourth or fifth accident at this junction in the past year," he added.
