Carry on doctor!

Three staff members pose for the November page of Critical Care Services Calender.

OOH, Matron! Doctors and nurses at a Birmingham hospital are raising temperatures with a saucy charity calendar.

Stethoscopes, lifesaving equipment and bedgowns at City Hospital's critical care unit have never looked so sexy.

Naughty nurses, admin staff and doctors came up with the Carry On-style idea in a bid to raise extra cash for specialist nurse training.

But one medic said they did not realise it would be so much fun posing in everything from green surgical gowns to see-through aprons.

"We had a ball making the calendar even though we got our kit off," said a spokeswoman.

"We had to think up all sorts of poses but in the end we used various pieces of medical accessories to cover up. It's only a bit of fun and I think the hospital bosses were a bit shocked with it at first."

She added: "Nurses have been given the saucy tag ever since the Carry On films, so this is just playing along with that and should hopefully raise a lot of money for a good cause." The calendars are currently being sold to colleagues across the hospital.

They are on sale for £5 each, with all proceeds going to City Hospital's critical care nurse training scheme.

* Anyone interested in buying a calendar should contact the critical care ward through the hospital's main switchboard on 0121 554 3801. ..SUPL:
