Police name freeze victim

A MAN found dead in the doorway of West Bromwich Town Hall during the big Christmas freeze was named by police today.

The body of Paul Doleman, aged 37, from West Bromwich, was discovered at 10am last Wednesday in the ornamental foyer of the building on High Street.

It is believed temperatures of minus five degrees overnight may have led to the death of Mr Doleman, although the cause of death has still to be officially confirmed.

An inquest on Mr Doleman was due to be opened in West Bromwich this afternoon by Black Country Coroner Robin Balmain.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and have ruled out foul play.

Officers believe Mr Doleman was sleeping in the Town Hall foyer overnight and the cold got the better of him.

When he was found, Mr Doleman was wearing a thin brown jacket, blue jeans, grey undertrousers and multi-coloured trainers.
