Thieves steal recycling container

A RECYCLING container for aluminium cans was the unlikely target of thieves who swiped it from outside a Redditch supermarket.

"This container weighed several tons and could only have been moved with a skip lorry or crane device," said a West Mercia police spokesman.

"It may be that people using the recycling facilities or the supermarket car park noticed it being moved without realising it was being stolen.

"The smallest detail can make a big difference to our enquiries so please do call if you have any information that may be relevant."

Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at Sainsbury's on the Abbey Trading Centre, in Redditch, between 3pm on Friday and 8am on Monday, should contact officers on 08457 444 888.
