Council leader injured in fall

SANDWELL Council leader Bill Thomas has been seriously hurt in a fall while on holiday.

Coun Thomas suffered a suspected broken pelvis in a tumble while on a trip to Poland.

The accident happened on Saturday shortly after his arrival in the country. He is currently being treated in a military hospital in Krakow.

He will be flown back to the UK in the next few days where he will have surgery. Coun Thomas is expected to be out of action for some weeks.
