Dad of 16 on fraud charges

A STAFFORD man who attracted national publicity after fathering ten children by two sisters is due to appear before magistrates tomorrow.

Father-of-16 David Bradley, of Whitby Close, Highfields, is due to appear at Cannock Magistrates' Court alongside one of the sisters, Diane Gilbert, of Keats Ave, also Highfields.

The pair are being prosecuted by Stafford Borough Council's benefit fraud investigators.

The two are charged with dishonestly failing to declare changes in their circumstances, whilst both were in receipt of housing and council tax benefit.

Diane Gilbert failed to inform Stafford Borough Council that she had moved in with her sister, Tina, and David Bradley - the father of Diane's three children.

She had continued to claim benefit for an address that she was not living in.

David Bradley, who lives with Diane's sister, Tina, and their seven children, failed to declare that Diane had moved into their household. Had he done so his housing and council tax benefit would have reduced.
